Meet the Panelists
Peter Hauerstein
SOL Design
Peter is Senior Architect and a registered architect in ten states. Peter works with the architectural and interior design teams developing the designs for our clients’ projects and seeing them through to the completion of construction to ensure the client’s vision is fully realized. Practising architecture for over three decades, Peter has experience in a wide range of project types including food and beverage, hospitality, residential, retail, corporate, and educational projects both throughout the United States and while living in Barcelona, Spain. This variety gives him a unique perspective on how to approach design solutions while drawing on his diverse project, cultural and life experiences. Peter is currently serving as the Vice President of AIA Florida. He is active in several committees including acting as both AIA Tampa Bay and AIA Florida’s Advocacy Chair. Peter lends his expertise as an architect to community programs and organizations in the Tampa Bay area. He is a WELL AP, bringing a health and wellness focus to the end-users in each design. Peter is also a registered Inspector for the Safety Assessment Program, as a first responder to natural disasters for the purpose of immediate evaluation of any structure’s ability to be re-occupied after the event to safeguard the public. When Peter is not involved in architecture, he enjoys a wide variety of activities including dancing, languages, playing hockey, gardening and all things Star Wars. Travel and learning about other cultures are his greatest passions.
Mark Sultana is the founder of DSDG Architects based in Sarasota, Florida. Since establishing the company in 2001, Mark has made it his mission to excel in all aspects of the architectural business, including design, execution, personnel management, and professionalism. Mark’s approach involves collaborating with clients from the initial conceptualisation stage all the way to the selection of materials, systems, and intricate details. Mark’s commitment to hands-on involvement extends beyond his professional life. He has personally designed and built five of his own homes, giving him a deep understanding of his clients’ needs and challenges. Outside of his professional endeavours, Mark takes pride in his heritage as a first-generation American with Maltese roots. He and his wife have two children, and he enjoys spending his free time boating and fishing with his family.
A Vice President with Kimley-Horn, Dawn Dodge is a Professional Engineer with nearly 20 years of experience. After starting her career in the Lakeland and Tampa offices, Dawn moved to St. Pete in 2018 to launch a new office for the firm. During her time as Office Leader, the St. Pete Office has grown to more than 70 employees serving a wide variety of public and private sector clients. Dawn’s passion lies in leading complex, defining projects that bridge the gap between public and commercial interests, deliver outstanding community benefits, solve environmental and sustainability challenges, and create economic impact. A few of Dawn’s notable projects include the St. Pete Pier Approach Design, Rome Yards, Art House, Straz Expansion, Dali Museum Expansion and Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital.
